Prevocational Medical Accreditation Support Services

From January 2015 to December 2018, the Queensland Government contracted Health Leaders Australia Limited (HLA) to serve as the Prevocational Medical Accreditation Authority for the State of Queensland. Providers of prevocational medical education and training are required to meet the accreditation standards and other requirements of their applicable Australian Medical Council Prevocational Medical Accreditation Authority.

HLA therefore has access to resources and professionals with experience in interpreting and addressing accreditation standards based on:

• The Australian Medical Council Intern Training – National Standards for Programs
• The Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors
• Medical Registration Standards of the Medical Board of Australia

General Practice Vocational Training Accreditation Support Services

HLA can also assist community general practices seeking accreditation or undertaking re-accreditation to provide vocational education and training for doctors training to achieve Fellowship outcomes with the Australian GP Colleges.

Medical education and training organisations applying for accreditation status can be supported in preparing applications and associated evidence, for submission to these health sector education and training accreditation authorities.
